Some traditional Italian foods are at risk of disappearing (due to altered lifestyles). Therefore, it is so important to study and document traditional recipes to sustain important elements of different Italian cultures. Traditional Italian food means natural, low processed, with a story, produced ‘in grandmother’s way’, with an authentic recipe.
When speaking about the traditional Italian cuisine, we refer to something that is rather diverse. There are some dishes and foods or ingredients that may be traditional across a whole country, but usually a large variety of local and regional traditional foods exist.
Thus, the traditional Italian Cooking reflects and includes a great collection of traditional recipes from different regions. The famous dessert Tiramisù for example originates from the town of Treviso in the Veneto region. However, this yummy dessert nowadays widely consumed across the whole country, it is considered a traditional dessert consumed throughout Italy, although it originates from a more restricted geographical area.
Here the use of food ingredients and preparation methods has been passed on from one generation to the next.
The one week cooking program focuses on full immersion: learn the old and traditional art of Italian Gastronomy.
If you want you discover the many aspects to Italian Regional Cooking why not immerse yourself with a 6 days cooking course? You will learn from experienced cooking class teacher including baking, pizza making, fresh pasta making, dessert making, tiramisu making, the art of cooking fresh seafood and shellfish, or how to cook the famous ossobuco, and focaccia and bread making techniques.
