Hands on Workshops – Padua – Veneto region – Italy
Join us in hands-on cooking course: two or three day cooking course about the Italian Cuisine. Fun, interesting, in English.
Italian food is one of the most popular cuisines in the world. However, it is a cuisine still widely misunderstood: for most, it revolves aroud pasta, pizza and tiramisù or gelato. But it is so much more that that!!!!!
Italy has an incredible variety of cuisines depending on its regions. Italy has a very interesting food culture.
The republic is divided into 20 regions and 110 provinces with a wide range of landforms and climates, from the island of Sicily in the south west, to the town of Trieste in the north east, each with their own food traditions and specialties. The variety in climate creates a large diversity of agriculture dependant on the region, and with this its own food history and cuisine and regional dishes.
We want to help our students to be more connected with our roots and to grasp the essence of regional Italian Cuisine.
We have developed a deep approach to teaching that makes even beginner cooks feel at ease after a bit of practice.
Have you tried understanding Italian food by studying cookbooks or watching youtube videos? But you have never learned how to cook!
It’s only after completing a cooking course that you will feel confident cooking Italian food at home.
You will understand the concept behind regional Italian food, and to learn about techniques, skills, recipes, dishes that have been cooked or baked regularly in Italian households sometimes for centuries.
This 3 day course (3 nights accommodation included) is about you acquiring essential knowledge in an interesting and fun way. Comprehensive and clear, the recipes are suitable for beginners as well as more experienced cooks.
It’s included a lesson about the basic principles of Italian Cuisine, important ingredients and kitchen equipment and how to plan a real meal.
Some of our recipes are traditional, but in particular techniques and dishes have been handed down through generation of our family.
Every day you will make a full traditional Italian meal with our chef – teacher: it consists of five courses: antipasto, primo piatto or a soup or risotto or pasta dish from scratch, a main dish secondo piatto and a vegetable side dish contorno, and a dessert.
You will learn from experienced cooking class teacher including baking, pizza making, pasta making, dessert making and focaccia making techniques.
Designed as a series of three cooking classes for up to eight people, each cooking class – held over four-five hours – is fun, interactive, and completely hands-on.
Afterwards, you sit to enjoy tasting the fruits of your labours in an informal, fun atmosphere.
