FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS | The Rolling Pin Cooking School

Below find answers to common questions about the cooking courses offered by the award winning Rolling Pin Cooking School.

If you have any different questions that we haven’t answered, please feel free to write them and send us an email.

What Is The Schedule For A Day in “The Rolling Pin Cooking School”?
The cooking classes start around 10.00am. Firstly students  familiarise themselves with their recipes of the day and meet the other students and the cooking class instructor.

The cooking teacher then demonstrates the preparation and cooking of a dish or a recipe and the students then go and replicate the dish/recipe at their workstations. There are 3/4 or more or more dishes/recipes prepared  and the cooking class instructor offers practical and helpful advice or  tips. We would suggest having only a light breakfast before the cooking class as there is a lot of tasting throughout the day!

How Do I Sign Up For Cooking Classes?

Please you can call or email us directly ot to fill the form to ask if we have a spot in a cooking class (please remember to write the date and for how many people).

How Much Cooking Experience Should I Have Before Entering The Program?

You don’t need a certain level of cooking ability to attend one of our cooking courses. Some guests come to our cooking school to improve their cooking skills, while others book a class with little or no cooking experience.
We have students that range from complete beginners to professional cooks, and our cooking class instructor is more than happy to accommodate any individual standards. The only pre-requisites for the cooking course are enthusiasm, passion for food,  and creativity. We will provide all the tuition required.

What Food Do I Learn?

Regional Italian Recipes completely from scratch.

When Are Your Classes?

Mondays – Sundays from 10am to 7pm. Please contact us asap to know if we can plan a cooking class for you.

How Many People Are In Each Class?

We typically have up to 8 people per class, but usually the cooking classes have a lower attendance (3-4 people). After the lesson is finished, you’ll enjoy the meal with fantastic wine in one dining room.

Do You Do Classes For Just 2 People Or For A Family?

We can host a private cooking lesson for 2 people or for a family. For private cooking classes please contact us by email.

How Long Are Classes?

Cooking classes are 2 to 6 hours in length (or we offer 3 day cooking course: 5-6 hours per day; or week long cooking course).

Will I Get The Recipes For What We’ve Created During Cooking Class?

You’ll get an email from us a day or two after cooking class with the recipes attached. They are for you to use at home when you go to recreate each dish.

How About Being Vegetarian Or Vegan?

There will be no problem even though you a vegetarian or a vegan. Apart from learning the meat dishes you are also will be taken to make your own vegetarian- vegan one. Vegan or vegetarian are welcome in our cooking school for all the class.

How About Having Special Dietary Requirements / Allergies?

We are able to accommodate special dietary requirements, but we do need to be made aware of them at the time of booking. For most of the planned recipes or dishes it will be possible to substitute items from the recipe to accommodate your requirements (i.e. gluten free, lactose intollerance, pescatarian, raw food,……).

If you have an allergy or a dietary requirement contact us or email us, we can then discuss your requirements and find the most suitable cooking course for your needs!

What Should I Wear?

We ask that you wear comfortable, casual clothing and flat comfortable home shoes or house slippers.  We, personally as a family, don’t wear shoes in the house, so we provide slippers for use during the class or you can use your socks or house slippers.  The cooking school will provide all of the equipment (aprons, kitchen tools) required for the cooking course.

What is your cancellation policy?

After registering for a cooking class, if you need to cancel or change your date you must do so more than 1 week before the start date.  If you want to cancel a cooking class less than 7 days prior to the cooking class, we charge the total amount per person for each class booked. This is to cover the cost of lost business, ingredients, and preparation. This charge applies for class cancellation, time or date changes, and reductions in the number of guests. We humbly implore you not to book a cooking class unless you are certain you can attend on time, because late cancellations, and very late arrivals are costly for us, and they inconvenience other guests or deny them their only chance to attend a class, because our seating is very limited.

The cooking school reserves the right to cancel any cooking class that fails to attract sufficient enrollment, inclement weather or chef illness. We will contact you by email or with Whatsapp.
